NEP vs SCO: Dipendra Singh Airee’s Brilliance Takes Nepal Home
Nepal defeated Scotland by seven wickets in the 33rd match of the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
After being forced to bat first, Scotland made a fantastic start as their openers, George Munsey and Michael Jones, added 80 runs off 60 balls for the first wicket. After Munsey’s departure, Jones stitched together another important partnership of 52 runs off 32 balls with Brandon McMullen. These two partnerships were instrumental in taking Scotland to 170/7 in their 20 overs. Jones was the highest scorer with 71 runs off 45 balls, including eight fours and three sixes, at a strike rate of 157.78. Munsey scored 27, while McMullen contributed 25. For Nepal, Sompal Kami took three wickets, conceding only 25 runs in his four overs.
In reply, Nepal got off to a good start as Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh put on 74 runs off 55 balls for the first wicket. However, the star of the run chase was Dipendra Singh Airee, who stitched together an unbeaten partnership of 73 runs with Gulsan Jha to ensure that Nepal reached the target with four balls to spare. Airee remained not out until the end after playing a blazing knock of 50 off 23 balls, including four fours and three sixes, at a strike rate of 217.39. For Scotland, Michael Leask took three wickets. Airee was adjudged Player of the Match.
