Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Chennai Super Kings by 10 runs after defending a total of 194 at their home ground. Here are the key highlights from the match.

Abhishek’s Powerplay Carnage Stuns CSK

Abhishek Sharma unleashed a breathtaking assault against Chennai Super Kings in the powerplay, making full use of the first six overs and tearing apart the bowling attack. The Sunrisers Hyderabad opener raced to the fastest half-century in franchise history, reaching the feat in just 15 balls. A brutal sequence of 4,4,4,6,6 off Matthew Short summed up his brilliance, as Abhishek looked in sublime touch throughout. He was eventually dismissed by Jamie Overton in the eighth over when he edged the ball and was caught behind by Sanju Samson. He scored 59 off 22 balls, striking at 268.

Klaasen Holds Firm Amid Collapse

Heinrich Klaasen anchored the innings for Sunrisers Hyderabad after Abhishek Sharma’s departure, standing tall as wickets fell around him. With Ishan Kishan and Nitish Kumar Reddy unable to contribute, Klaasen ensured the scoring rate stayed above 10. Despite Jamie Overton’s fiery spell, where he picked up three wickets, the South African struck a fluent 59 off 36 before falling to a pinpoint wide yorker from Anshul Kamboj. With this knock, he also moved to the top of the Orange Cap standings.

Mhatre’s Fiery Knock Cut Short Due to Injury

Ayush Mhatre looked in fine touch from the moment he walked in, taking the aggressive route with fearless strokeplay after Sanju Samson’s early dismissal. The youngster seized the opportunity, attempting to take control of the chase. He smashed 4,4,4,4,6 in an over off Praful Hinge. Despite struggling with a niggle picked up while rotating strike and visibly limping, Mhatre battled on before eventually falling for a quickfire 30 off 13, brilliantly caught by Heinrich Klaasen off Nitish Kumar Reddy.

SRH Bowlers Steal the Show

Sunrisers Hyderabad produced a clinical bowling effort to pull things back after early carnage from Ayush Mhatre. Nitish Kumar Reddy impressed with improved pace, finishing with two wickets at an economy of six. Eshan Malinga, on the other hand, picked up three wickets to derail the chase. Spinners Shivang Kumar and Harsh Dubey tightened the screws further as the required rate soared past 15. In the final over, with 18 needed off six balls, Praful Hinge delivered pinpoint yorkers to seal the game.
