PBKS vs LSG : “I rather focus on properly timing the ball” – Priyansh Arya after his explosive 93 in Mullanpur
Punjab Kings (PBKS) once again asserted their dominance in IPL 2026 as they remained the only unbeaten team after six games, sitting at the top of the points table with 11 points. They defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 54 runs on April 19 after putting up a massive total of 254 on the scoreboard.
Priyansh Arya, the explosive opener, lit up the Mullanpurstadium with a 93-run knock off 37 balls and was deservingly adjudged the Player of the Match. Speaking at the post-match presentation, Arya said, “what was really special about this innings is that I was able to continue my batting even after the powerplay, i think I contributed well to the win and that is what made me happy”.
When asked about his six-hitting abilities and how he prepares during practice sessions, Priyansh added, “ I don’t usually prepare for six hitting in particular. I rather focus on properly timing the ball and that’s what helps me in the long run.”
In his 93-run knock, he smashed four boundaries and nine sixes at an explosive strike rate of 251.35.
“ Anand Sir and Birla Bhaiya our trainers have been helping us with our fitness routines for the last 4-5 months and I try to follow the schedule sent by them”, when asked about his fitness routine.
He further added that it helps him to not talk too much when a partnership is building at the crease. “ When we talk more, we tend to overthink. It’s better to focus on our batting and play with a clear mind”.
His favourite shot of the night when asked? “ I had hit a six over point. That is my most favourite of tonight”.
PBKS will next face Delhi Capitals (DC) on April 25 in Delhi.
