CSK vs SRH: Pat Cummins Reaches 200-Wicket Milestone

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain Pat Cummins took his 200th wicket in T20 cricket against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) during the 63rd match of IPL 2026 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. He became the 131st bowler in history to achieve the milestone in the 20-over format.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, CSK openers Sanju Samson and Ruturaj Gaikwad provided an impressive start. Cummins struck in the third over, dismissing Samson for 27 to deliver the first breakthrough. Cummins found the outside edge as Samson attempted a shot through the covers, and Ishan Kishan safely collected the catch behind the stumps.
Young batter Kartik Sharma, who scored 32 runs, was dismissed after completely misjudging a wide short ball and slicing it straight into the hands of the sweeper-cover fielder.
The milestone wicket came a few overs later when Cummins deceived CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad. He induced the CSK skipper into playing a pull shot, resulting in a simple edge for the fielder to catch.
This prized scalp marked Cummins’s 200th wicket in T20 cricket. The double strike triggered a dramatic collapse for the Super Kings, reducing them from a comfortable position to a struggling 100/4 by the middle of the 12th over.
Across his overall T20 career, Cummins has maintained a bowling average of 27.21 and has registered three four-wicket hauls. A significant portion of his success has come in the IPL, where he has claimed 87 wickets in 78 matches.
Cummins finished his four-over spell with figures of 3/28, emerging as SRH’s best bowler of the season.
