Bengal T20 Pro: Shrachi Rhar Tigers to take on Sobisco Smashers Malda in Final
Bengal T20 Pro league witnessed a dominating show from Shrachi Rhar Tigers in the semifinal as they defeated Novus Royals Purulia by seven wickets to qualify for the tournament final.
Purulia batters fell prey to the bowling brilliance of the Tigers as they suffered a major top-order collapse. Lokesh emerged as the lone warrior from the Purulia outfit, smashing 48 runs off 28 balls in the lower order. With his attacking intent and a timely partnership with Mithilesh Das, Purulia put a respectable 107 on the board after finding themselves at 26-6 at one point.
Rohit Kumar from the Tigers starred with four wickets while operating at an economy rate of 7.20 and was declared Man of the Match. “I have no regrets on missing out on the five-wicket haul- even if I had not taken a single wicket and the team had won, I would have been happy,” Rohit told Revsportz. When asked if there are any separate plans for the finals, he mentioned, “No nothing as such. We will stick to our existing plans. We are ready to face any team in the finals- no team is easy so no planning or preference as such”.
Sumanta Gupta, who scored 47 runs today to ensure victory for the Tigers said, “I always put the team first and try to play impactful innings. 47, 50 does not matter as long as we are winning. We focused on keeping the team environment good, no matter the result in the games. Shahbaz is also a very positive captain, so that helps”.
The next semi final clash between Sobisco Smashers Malda and Servotech Siliguri Strikers was an absolute thriller with Ishan Porel picking up four wickets for the Strikers and setting things up at the start. However, the batters completely faltered under pressure collapsing despite multiple fielding hiccups from the Smashers. They managed to assert dominance with their bowling and registered a 12-run victory over the strikers.
