Women’s Hundred 2026: London Derby Ends in Dramatic Tie, Third Tied Match in Tournament History

The London derby between MI London and London Spirit ended in a dramatic tie at The Oval, becoming only the third tied match in Women’s Hundred history.

After posting 151/4, MI London came close to securing their first win of the season. However, London Spirit held their nerve to finish on 151/5, with both teams sharing the points.

The previous two tied matches in the tournament came in 2024. The first was between Southern Brave and Northern Superchargers in Leeds, followed by London Spirit and Oval Invincibles at Lord’s. Interestingly, with Oval Invincibles rebranded as MI London this season, London Spirit have now featured in tied matches against the same franchise under different names.

Tied matches in Women’s Hundred history

 • Southern Brave (100/8) tied with Northern Superchargers (100/7) – Leeds, 2024

 • London Spirit (113/9) tied with Oval Invincibles (113/8) – Lord’s, 2024

 • MI London (151/4) tied with London Spirit (151/5) – The Oval, 2026

Earlier, Amelia Kerr’s unbeaten 49 and Chinelle Henry’s explosive 33* off just 12 balls powered MI London to 151/4.

In reply, Amy Jones (49), Marie Kelly (45 off 28) and Marizanne Kapp (25 off 13) kept London Spirit in the hunt. With nine runs required from the final five balls, Nadine de Klerk and Deandra Dottin were at the crease as Hayley Matthews took responsibility with the ball.

Dottin struck a boundary before taking a single to leave four needed from the final three deliveries. De Klerk was then dismissed, but Dottin and skipper Charlie Dean managed three runs from the final two balls to force a dramatic tie.

Kelly was named Player of the Match. The result earned MI London their first points of the season, while London Spirit moved up to fourth in the table with six points from three matches.
