Women’s Asia Cup has always been a tournament where Team India have dominated. Out of the nine editions so far, the Women in Blue have won seven times, making them the most successful team, while finishing as runners-up on the other two occasions. Hence, once again, in Dubai, Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. will be expected to showcase their dominance and add another Asia Cup title to their trophy cabinet.

They gained automatic qualification as an Asian Cricket Council (ACC) full member.

So far this year, the Women in Blue have struggled in this format. In the T20 World Cup in England and Wales, they suffered a group-stage exit after losing to Australia on June 28. Since then, this Asia Cup will be their first T20I assignment.

Note

  • In WT20Is, only four batters have managed to score 4,000 or more runs so far, and among them, two are from India — Smriti Mandhana (4,538 runs in 165 innings) and Harmanpreet Kaur (4,216 runs in 181 innings).
  • Veteran all-rounder Deepti Sharma is the second-highest wicket-taker of all time in WT20Is, taking 168 wickets in 146 innings so far.
  • Pratika Rawal has earned her maiden T20I call-up as she comes in as a replacement of Injured Jemimah Rodrigues. However, Pratika has not played a T20 since the Challenger Trophy in November 2024. In that tournament, she scored 142 runs at a strike rate of 111.81.
