Asia Cup 2026 – UAE Cruise to Six-Wicket Win Against Indonesia

Indonesia and UAE faced each other in a one-sided contest, with Indonesia struggling to build partnerships before being bowled out for 73. UAE’s bowlers kept the pressure on throughout the innings, setting up a straightforward chase. In response, UAE reached the target with six wickets in hand.

Sakarini Holds Indonesia Together

Ni Putu Ayu Nanda Sakarini played a fighting innings for Indonesia, scoring 39 runs off 52 balls. With wickets falling regularly around her, she showed patience and stayed at the crease to give her team some stability.

Sakarini rotated the strike well and made the most of the scoring opportunities that came her way. The right-handed batter struck four boundaries and a six, with the six showcasing her ability to take on the bowlers when needed. Her steady approach helped Indonesia keep the scoreboard moving during a difficult phase of the innings. She was eventually dismissed lbw by Esha Oza in the 16th over.

UAE’s Bowlers Set the Tone

UAE’s bowlers set the stage early, putting Indonesia under pressure right from the beginning. Suraksha Kotte made the perfect start, striking twice in the opening over to remove Maria Corazon and Ni Luh Dewi, leaving Indonesia reeling. The right-arm off-spinner continued to bowl with control and later added a third wicket, finishing with impressive figures of 3/16.

Oza also played an important role, dismissing Rahmawati Pangestuti before eventually removing Sakarini, who was Indonesia’s top scorer. Heena Hotchandani chipped in with two wickets, including the dismissals of Rada Rani and Sofia Velic. With wickets falling regularly, Indonesia struggled to build partnerships and were eventually bowled out for 73.

UAE Chase Down the Target Comfortably Despite a Small Hiccup

UAE made light work of the chase, reaching the target with ease. Oza led the way with a composed 30 off 29 balls, hitting five boundaries, while Rinitha Rajith supported her with 21 off 22 balls.

Oza built her innings patiently before finding the boundaries regularly during the middle overs. Rajith then played a steady supporting role, keeping the scoreboard moving. Despite Oza falling for 30, UAE lost two wickets in quick succession. However, Lavanya and Samaira remained at the crease to finish the job for UAE.
