Pakistan are yet to bag their maiden Women’s Asia Cup title. So far, their best finish in the tournament’s history has been finishing as runners-up twice – in 2012 and 2016. However, in the last two editions (2022 and 2024), they were knocked out in the semi-finals. Now, in the 2026 edition, the Women in Green will aim for their maiden Asia Cup title as they are placed in Group A alongside India, Thailand and Hong Kong, China.

With just two wins in their last two WT20Is, the Women in Green are heading into this tournament. After a poor Women’s T20 World Cup, they toured Sri Lanka, where they lost both the ODI and T20I series. That was the last competitive assignment for Fatima Sana and Co. before this Asia Cup, with their last game coming on August 4 in Dambulla.

  • Nashra Sandhu and Sadia Iqbal are third and fourth, respectively, on Pakistan’s list of highest wicket-takers in WT20Is, with 82 and 80 wickets so far.
