Pakistan turn to pink against England for breast cancer awareness

Pakistan (PC: PCB)

The Pakistan men’s cricket team will wear a special pink jersey during their ODI against England at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on October 25 to raise awareness of breast cancer.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has planned several activities as part of ‘Pinktober’, observed worldwide in October to raise awareness of breast cancer and highlight the importance of early detection.

The match is part of the ongoing tri-series involving Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka. In addition to Pakistan’s pink jerseys, England players, match officials and commentators will wear pink ribbons to show their support for the campaign.

Gaddafi Stadium will also adopt a pink theme for the occasion. Pink stumps will be used during the match, while awareness messages will be displayed on the big screens and LED boards around the ground.

The PCB will also share special videos featuring Pakistani cricketers on its social media platforms to educate people about breast cancer. Fans attending the match will be able to take part in awareness activities, which will begin two hours before the start of play.

The board will also introduce limited-edition pink merchandise, including fan jerseys and polo shirts, to support the campaign.
